As a teacher it is hard to get students to communicate as a group outside of a classroom. Overall I think the blog was a great idea, except for the fact that it required time outside of the normal class. I want to call it annoying almost but then i have to stop and think why i would even say that. Honestly it stems from the fact that it required that extra push that I didn't want to do in addition to the requirements of my other classes. If I wasn't battling such a heavy load this semester I doubt I complain. I don't mind work.
Overall I think the blog accomplished basically everything that the professor listed on the assignment sheet. It is a great way to get students to interact, and a great tool for feedback. I think the blog was interesting because it forced me to learn more about my fellow students then I would have even thought to imagine. Like it destroyed that barrier of just classmates to classmates that know a little more about there peers. Its like at points I would read things from and about other students and it would shock me because I would learn something about then, that by looking at then I would have never thought. The blogs also allowed me to find who I have similar interests with.
The blog was also a great way at being able to evaluate what in class activities we did. I think making us write about them after the in class activities provided us with an even more in depth grasp of what you were trying to get across to us. It was also a great way for people to vent when they didn't get the extra credit points!
I mean I honestly didn't get a chance to post anything extra that really related to management. I know that there was an abundance of material available, but i was already having issues with the assignments and lack of time. Honestly I would love to turn my blog into something more but doubt that I will have the time to actually keep up with it in the near future.
Overall, like 10% of me is upset that I had to do it, that's the lazy part of me, but overall this was a great way to get people even more involved into the whole management setting.
